Job Description
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field. Professional accounting qualifications such as ACCA, CPA or LCCI are highly preferred.
• At least 4–6 years of relevant experience in Cost Accounting, Management Accounting, Budgeting or Financial Planning with experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Strong knowledge of product costing, standard costing, actual costing, inventory valuation, manufacturing overhead allocation and cost variance analysis.
• Strong skills in annual budgeting, forecasting, budget monitoring, cost analysis, variance analysis and financial planning.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/accounting systems is highly preferred.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify cost drivers, investigate variances and provide practical recommendations to management.
Strong leadership, communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage accounting staff.
Job Specification
• Budget Planning & Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to prepare, monitor and update monthly, quarterly and annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Calculate and analyze variances between actual expenses and budgeted/standard costs and present insightful variance reports to management.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare timely management reports related to cost accounting, product margins and budget compliance to support decision-making.
• Calculate and analyze direct material, labor and overhead costs associated with production and operations.
• Oversee inventory valuation, perform regular stock audits and reconcile physical inventory with ledger accounts.
• Perform monthly variance analysis (Standard Cost vs. Actual Cost) and present actionable insights to management.
• Identify inefficiencies in production processes and recommend strategies to minimize waste and reduce costs.
• Assist management in evaluating product margins and setting competitive product pricing strategies.
• Maintain accurate cost records and ensure proper entry within the ERP/Accounting system.
