• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CAFM-Certified Automotive Fleet Manager) is a significant plus.
• Experience with Fleet Management Systems (FMS), GPS tracking software, and MS Excel.
• Mechanical Knowledge: A solid understanding of vehicle mechanics to evaluate repair costs and maintenance needs.
• Strong financial acumen to manage large operational budgets and ROI calculations.
• The ability to react quickly to breakdowns, accidents, or logistical delays.
• Experience managing a team of drivers and maintenance staff.
• Skill in dealing with vehicle vendors, insurance providers, and repair shops to get the best rates.
Job Specification
• Purchasing and maintaining vehicles, as well as handling the registration, insurance, and disposal of aging assets.
• Developing and implementing proactive maintenance programs to ensure vehicle safety and longevity.
• Monitoring fuel costs, repair expenses, and operational budgets to identify areas for cost-saving. Ensuring all drivers and vehicles adhere to local transportation laws and internal safety protocols.
• Recruiting, training, and monitoring driver performance through telematics or GPS tracking.
• Using fleet management software to generate reports on vehicle utilization and efficiency.
